UKRI is committed to gender equality within its workforce, and across the research and innovation system as part of its wider focus on equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
From 2022, all public bodies, research organisations and higher education establishments applying to the European Commission’s Horizon Europe programme are required to have a gender equality plan (GEP) in place to access funding.
UKRI’s GEP:
- sets out how our organisation, and its centres, institutes and units, meet the specific Horizon Europe requirements
- enables us to focus in on gender equalities.
To prepare our plan, we have followed the Horizon Europe guidance on gender equality plans (op.europa.eu). Much of the work in our GEP directly correlates to our wider UKRI workforce EDI plan.
