Public engagement – BBSRC

Public engagement includes all the ways that people in research can listen to, involve and otherwise interact with the public, with the aim of:

  • benefitting both research and wider society
  • enriching lives locally, nationally and internationally.

We focus our public engagement and science in society activities, such as public dialogues, around our strategic themes. Our activities aim to deliver the UK Research and Innovation public engagement strategy.

To help engage the public with biosciences research, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) also partners with other organisations such as the Royal Society of Biology and Nuffield Council on Bioethics.
