Information for reviewers
The Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) team delivers peer review in collaboration with all research councils and Innovate UK.
Reviewers of the FLF scheme are expected to refer to our reviewers’ guidance and quick guide before and while completing their review. These documents include scheme-specific information and considerations and a detailed guide on how to complete the review form.

We also encourage reviewers to complete our short online training course, especially those new to the FLF scheme or to review writing generally.

The training course is made up of two modules, the first covering the FLF scheme and the second providing guidance on good review writing. The course should take around 30 minutes to complete.
Peer Review College and panel college
Written assessment is supported by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Talent Peer Review College.
The college is made up of experts from across academic and non-academic organisations including existing FLF fellows. They come from a range of backgrounds, disciplines, career stages and host organisations.
Members of the college are expected to assess up to eight applications a year.
Candidates are shortlisted and interviewed by the UKRI Talent Panel College. The panel college is made up of members who have significant experience or understanding in assessing the quality of major research and innovation projects across a range of areas, beyond their own specialist area. They may also have experience of assessing interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research.
