Grant payments from Research England to higher education providers (HEPs) are made through UK Shared Business Services (UK SBS).
Currently, payments attributable to Research England will pass through the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) accounts payable function, and credits to HEPs’ accounts will therefore show as from EPSRC.
Payment profiles
The grant payment profiles for August 2024 to July 2025, show how Research England’s allocated grants are paid to each individual HEP across the academic year.
Remittance advices
Remittance advices will be issued with each grant payment. If you have not received a remittance advice it could be because UK SBS, who produce these for Research England, do not have correct contact details for you.
Email finance@uksbs.co.uk to:
- establish where remittance emails are being sent
- ensure that UK SBS has the correct contact details
If a remittance advice has not been received, email annualfunding@re.ukri.org to receive details of the payment made to you.
Adjustments to payments in March, April and May
March payments may be higher than initially published, and April to May payments lower. This is due to an adjustment process at the end of Research England’s financial year.
The total grant paid to HEPs during the academic year is not affected by this adjustment.
Payment dates for academic year 2024 to 2025
Payments are expected to reach HEPs’ bank accounts on the following dates:
- 23 August 2024
- 23 September 2024
- 24 October 2024
- 25 November 2024
- 20 December 2024
- 24 January 2025
- 21 February 2025
- 24 March 2025
Payment dates for April to July 2025 will be provided in March 2025.
