Digital economy telling tales of engagement awards

Telling tales of engagement (TTE) awards were funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council’s former digital economy (DE) theme, which ran from 2008 to 2022. They were designed to help record and promote the impact of DE research supported by UKRI.

The aims of the TTE awards were to:

  • record the impact and benefits the DE theme’s research is having, or is expected to have, on society and the economy
  • tell a tale of how the impact developed, so the wider research community can learn from examples of best practice
  • engage the public with digital economy research so they can see how it helps meet various challenges support UKRI’s work on equality, diversity and inclusion

The scheme started in 2011 and three awards of £10,000 were made each year until 2019. Applications were open to individuals and teams from all career stages in academia (including PhD students), industry, users and the third sector.
