The immigration forum provides a collaborative space for organisations to come together to share thinking and discuss current and future activities, to ensure the UK retains its ability to attract, retain and develop international research and innovation talent, as well as identifying where members can work jointly to create further progress.
The forum is currently chaired by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). It brings together people across a variety of roles and organisations, including policymakers and human resources professionals from research organisations. The forum focuses on staff immigration over student immigration.
All members are expected to be active contributors to the forum.
How to join the forum
Anyone can request to join the forum. You do not need to be in a specific role or discipline, but you should have an active role in either the delivery or policy of immigration related to research and innovation.
The forum meets quarterly. Meetings are mostly virtual but at least one per year is held in person. Members are not required to attend every meeting.
Please email globalmobility@ukri.org requesting to join the forum with a short explanation about how your role or organisation are involved in research and innovation immigration.
