Good practice in doctoral training

In February 2015, we held our first Training Partnership Forum (see booklet below), bringing together representatives from our Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTP) and Industrial CASE Partnerships (ICP). The aim of the Forum was to facilitate cross-partnership cooperation and collaboration, the sharing of good practice and the identification of challenges associated with running a successful training partnership.

Delegates were asked to discuss good practice in six key elements of BBSRC Training Partnerships. They were:

  • training the cohort
  • training the individual
  • managing a training partnership
  • capturing the impact of a training partnership
  • managing student placements
  • managing intellectual assets associated with BBSRC Training Partnerships.

There is a summary of outputs from the first Forum describing the context of a framework of good practice for managing training partnerships.

You can read the Forum booklet which includes the agenda and material provided to delegates and the report from the meeting.
