Details
The Wonder Initiative aims to create exciting and meaningful opportunities for people from areas of socioeconomic deprivation. If particularly focuses on working with, participants who are eight to 14-years-olds, to share with them how STEM is relevant to their experiences and futures.
The initiative is strategically driven by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and delivered in partnership with engagement practitioners and community organisations across the UK.
The Wonder phase 1 (2018 to 2021) overview provides:
- an introduction to the Wonder Initiative
- an overview of public engagement activities delivered through the initiative
- a summary of the key findings and learnings
The Wonder phase 1 infographic provides a brief overview of the initiative, its key achievements and learnings.
The ‘Working with Wonder audiences’ document is a collection of advice from some of Wonder project leaders. Many of the lessons are examples of general good practice for public engagement.
The ‘Five case studies from STFC’s Wonder initiative phase 1’ document gives details of case studies from Wonder project leaders. The case studies illustrate diverse ways of engaging with Wonder groups with STFC science and technology.
