The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) budget allocations set out how we will invest in world-class research and innovation, improving lives and livelihoods for all.

The budget allocation explainer 2025 to 2026 reflects UKRI’s allocated budgets as confirmed following the first phase of the Spending Review 2025. For each financial year, we publish our annual report and accounts which provides our yearly actual spend, budgets, delivery milestones, and achievements against our corporate plan.
