UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Ambassador programme aims to provide engaging informal learning opportunities to young people of all backgrounds to:
- support their understanding of STEM
- encourage them to consider whether STEM could be ‘for them’
In summer 2021 UKRI commissioned a review of the STEM Ambassador programme. The purpose of the review was to improve understanding around:
- the overall effectiveness of the programme against its aims and objectives
- how the programme has impacted policy, process and activity within the STEM engagement sector
- the effectiveness of the governance and management of the programme at local and national levels
