Details

This report details how much has changed in 40 years of UK social science.

Today’s ESRC is more likely to support research in collaboration with organisations within and beyond the UK, and has more of a concern with engaging the general public and specific interest groups in its work.

Its priorities are more closely integrated into the overall direction of government science strategy. And its importance has grown as it has taken more responsibility for the full costs of the research it supports.
