The report highlights NERC’s carbon performance for the 2023 to 2024 financial year.
The figures presented are for NERC’s global emissions, differing from those presented in the UK Research and Innovation annual report which only show carbon performance within the UK.
For transparency and under the guidance of the Carbon Trust, NERC has decided to present NERC’s global carbon emissions, including ships, aircraft and Antarctic estates.
In addition, the report highlights key projects of NERC’s Carbon Pathway Programme in 2023 to 2024.
They contribute to carbon reduction from major sources.
