In 2008 the MRC introduced a programme of initiatives directed toward supporting early phase, academic-led, translational research projects.
Since then, over £530 million of new funding has been allocated to this programme and 900 projects supported (in addition 625 Confidence in Concept (CiC) projects have been completed since 2012).
This evaluation examines the outcomes of completed translational projects, comparing elements of the programme with output from MRC’s research portfolio.
