Details

The Medical Research Council (MRC), the NHS and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) recognise the importance of addressing the challenges associated with the climate crisis and its impact on health.

The inaugural conference at the Francis Crick Institute on 29 April 2024 marked the start of a collaborative, mutually supportive approach to achieve greater impact on this agenda, given the three organisations’ shared priorities and mission.

This report presents:

  • the findings of selected research projects funded by each organisation
  • the key discussion points of two discussion panels considering funding and dissemination of knowledge and good practice in transforming to an environmentally sustainable research and innovation sector

The report sets out actions that the MRC, the NHS and NIHR:

  • have independently or collectively committed to
  • will update on the progress of at the next conference in 2025
