UKRI as a funder is increasingly being asked to classify awards based on research content rather than the pre-existing classifications based on project title and abstract.
This publication sets out how we have developed a sentence transformer to help classify our portfolio and service these requests.
It is a step-by-step guide detailing the implementation of the sentence transformer algorithm (including underlying code) so anyone can apply this to their datasets.
