This evaluation conducted by Technopolis combines primary and secondary data sources to investigate the societal impact of EPSRC funded research and training relevant to the circular economy.

The study uses a mixed-methods approach with evidence gathered from various strands of primary research and analysis of secondary data sources.

The study finds evidence of:

  • high levels of economic and environmental impacts arising from the technologies and manufacturing processes advanced by the EPSRC funded research projects.
  • high scientific value, with high numbers of publications and highly cited papers
  • increased capability and skills.
