The policy on use of generative AI in application preparation and assessment applies to all UKRI funding opportunities.

The policy sets out the following:

  • responsibilities of applicants, assessors (including reviewers and panelists) and UKRI
  • how the policy will be upheld

    In the 'Applicant responsibilities' section, the sentence 'Applications should not cite the use of generative AI tools where these have been used to develop application content...' has been replaced with 'In line with current sector good practice, applicants and applications are expected to be transparent where they have used generative AI tools in the development of an application...'
