EPSRC works closely with its community to shape thematic strategy and understand community priorities. We run regular engagement activities, including a series of community workshops in 2023. The workshops were designed to capture a snapshot of the current landscape and to identify and explore opportunities to understand how these may be realised. Finally, the workshops sought to understand how the mathematical sciences can deliver UKRI strategic priorities as well as current areas of interest to the community.
This report provides a summary of the workshop discussion around strengths and weaknesses, as well as identifying and exploring opportunities. Moreover, the report details a series of recommendations, both for EPSRC as well as the mathematical sciences community.
