Details

An expert research forum has been established by the UK government to identify how progress can be made in increasing our understanding of the risks associated with head impacts in sport.

The forum also identifies the mechanisms through which concussion or mild traumatic brain injury can affect health and wellbeing. It looks at how we can promote more accurate and rapid diagnosis when such events occur, and how we might develop new approaches to provide prevention and treatment.

This has led to the identification of a number of priority areas for future research which are listed in this report.
