Rashik Parmar MBE is a member of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Council.

Rashik Parmar is a digital leader with a 42-year career focused on responsible and impactful technology. He currently holds several key advisory positions at The Open University and DIGIT Lab, where he guides strategic research and development.

His extensive experience includes leading the British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT and serving as an IBM Fellow. As an IBM Fellow, he championed a ‘future-ready’ culture and pioneered responsible computing, co-authoring influential articles on the topic in the Harvard Business Review.

Rashik’s expertise extends beyond his formal roles, as he is a sought-after speaker and thought leader on digitisation, known for his ability to inspire and articulate compelling visions of technological possibilities.

His contributions have been recognised with an MBE for services to business and innovation, solidifying his reputation as a strategic visionary in the UK’s technology and business communities. He has also co-authored the Harvard Business Review article, ‘New Patterns for Innovation’.

Beyond his professional achievements, Rashik demonstrates a deep commitment to community and personal wellbeing. He is a founding director of Rangoli Radio, serving the global Indian diaspora, and the author of ‘Sunday Sprinkles’, a top 50 best happiness blog.
