ESRC Strategic Lead for Skills and Methods
Lucy Thorne is Strategic Lead for Skills and Methods at the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
Lucy is responsible for enhancing leadership and methodological capacity throughout the research pipeline.
She joined ESRC in 2019 and before this, Lucy spent eight years leading the professional development agenda for research and academic staff at Lancaster University and prior to this, held senior management roles in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Lancaster University and at the Learning and Skills Development Agency in London.
Lucy has a PhD in Education and postdoctoral research experience from London’s Institute of Education and Middlesex University, where her research interest was in doctoral education.
