EPSRC Council member
Dr Joe de Sousa is a member of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Council.
Joe has extensive experience in people, project and scientific leadership within the global pharmaceutical industry. He has delivered across all stages of pharmaceutical R&D including pre-clinical research, clinical development and regulatory approval and has had leading roles in the development of many new medicines across a wide range of disease areas.
Joe completed a DPhil at University of Oxford and is a Chartered Chemist, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at The University of Manchester. He has previously been a member of the EPSRC Strategic Advisory Network and prior to that was a member of the Healthcare Technologies Strategic Advisory Team.
