ESRC Strategic Lead for Innovation and Business Engagement
Huw Vasey is Strategic Lead for Innovation and Business Engagement at the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
Huw leads on our business engagement, commercialisation and innovation strategy and funding, including investments in the Innovation Caucus.
Huw joined UKRI in 2019 and initially led on the research investments of the UKRI Challenge Fund Healthy Ageing Challenge before moving to his current role in 2021. Prior to joining ESRC, Huw worked as a researcher at the University of Manchester for seven years. He holds a PhD in Human Geography (Exon), as well as master’s (Sussex) and undergraduate (Wales) degrees in Social Anthropology.
