MRC Council member
Dr Graham Spittle CBE is Dean of Innovation at The University of Edinburgh.
He is also a member of the Medical Research Council (MRC) and a member of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) Business and Innovation Council.
Graham helped found Health Data Research UK and was appointed Chair of the organisation in 2017, before stepping down in 2023.
Prior to that Graham held several executive positions in IBM, both in the UK and the US, including Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Software Group.
Graham was also the first Chair of Innovate in the UK and a member of the Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology.
In 2008 he was appointed as a Commander of British Empire (CBE) for his services to industry.
