UKRI Chief Finance Officer and UKRI Board member
Siobhan Peters is Chief Finance Officer at UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
Siobhan is a member of UKRI’s Board, and has responsibility for the leadership and development of the Finance, Commercial, Risk and Assurance, Legal and Health and Safety functions and will work closely with the Chief Executive, UKRI’s Executive Chairs and UKRI’s leadership team to ensure UKRI creates the best possible environment for research and innovation to flourish.
She brings with her a wealth of experience from sectors including energy and environment, health, security and policing.
Siobhan comes to UKRI from the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), where she was for just over three years, most recently as interim Chief Executive but also holding the role of Chief Financial Officer.
At Imperial College NHS Trust she was Deputy CFO, responsible for strategic investment decisions, financial services, and procurement.
She had previously held Director roles covering Finance, Strategy, Planning, Programme Delivery and Change at the Home Office from 2010 to 2015.
Before that she held a number of senior roles at HM Treasury and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and served for five years in the economic section of the British Embassy in Beijing.
She was the Director for the Stern Review of the Economics of Climate Change, and was recognised with a CMG for this work in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2007.
She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and Touche in 1996.
