Associate Director of Analysis, Research England
Andy is the Associate Director of Analysis at Research England.
Andy leads the data and analytical functions of the organisation, a key part of which involves allocating formula-driven research and knowledge exchange funding to higher education providers.
Andy has nearly 30 years of data and analytics experience, having previously held roles in both further and higher education institutions, and in healthcare regulation. Throughout his career, he has taken the lead in management information, analytics, data governance and information systems design. Before joining Research England, Andy provided consultancy services to third sector organisations, focusing on systems improvements to maximise customer engagement and fundraising.
Andy was the Head of Data Verification and Information Management for the last Research Excellence Framework exercise 2021 (REF 2021). Following the end of the last REF 2021, Andy moved to his current role leading the analytics function at Research England.
