EPSRC Deputy Director, Talent and Skills
Dr Alison Wall is the Deputy Director for Talent and Skills in the Research Directorate at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
Alison is responsible for the Talent and Skills and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) delivery plan priorities.
Alison’s portfolio includes the EPSRC doctoral investments of the 2023 and 2018 Centres for Doctoral Training and new doctoral landscape awards and Doctoral Training Partnerships, as well as an overview of fellowships and talent and skills development across the EPSRC portfolio.
Alison works with colleagues across UKRI in talent and skills and EDI and is one of the leadership team for the UK Research and Innovation Research and Innovation Careers network.
Previous roles in EPSRC have included heading up the team responsible for impact, including introducing Impact Acceleration Accounts, leading EPSRC major cross-council programmes. Before this, Alison was head of the energy programme and the lead for energy across all the research councils, infrastructure and environment, chemistry and large scale facilities and high end computing.
