Eligible applicants for round one of the Research Software Maintenance Fund will be asked to submit an expression of interest.
If successful, you will then be invited to submit a full proposal by 12 September 2025.
All projects must start in January 2026 and conclude by February 2028.
To apply, you must maintain existing software that is currently used to enable UK research.
The fund is not intended for developing entirely new software, nor to develop software for the purpose of researching it.
The first round of the Research Software Maintenance Fund is open to applications from applicants in the UK and internationally. However, you must be based at a UK research organisation to lead the project and apply for this funding. Check if your organisation is eligible.
