UKRI has announced a webinar series focused on how innovation, collaboration and engagement will come together to help the UK reach net zero by 2050.
In the year the UK hosts the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) summit in November, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) will use its role as a steward of the research and innovation system to bring our communities together. This is to create sustainable and resilient solutions, and encourage new behaviours and new ways of living that enable the UK to reach net zero by 2050.
As part of this commitment of enabling greater discussion and understanding, UKRI’s flagship Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) have announced a new monthly webinar series focused on how innovation, collaboration and engagement will come together to help:
- achieve net zero ambitions
- tackle wider climate change
- build a more sustainable future.
Building a greener UK
The series will shed light on the work already undertaken by the ISCF programme to address the key challenges that will help the UK build back greener. It will bring together world-renowned researchers and innovators across the breadth of our funding disciplines to discuss the need for innovative solutions to:
- heat our homes
- travel to work
- develop and transform our industries
- cater to our diet
- enjoy our leisure time
- prosper from a cleaner, healthier environment in parallel with growing our economy.
We will run a monthly webinar from April to November featuring:
- ISCF challenges
- UKRI councils and project leads
- renowned external experts from academia, industry and technology fields.
