UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is supporting a leading conference on climate change which begins Monday 17 May, six months before the start of COP26.
Climate Exp0 is a free, virtual five-day event from the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) Universities Network and the Italian University Network for Sustainable Development (RUS). The event takes place from Monday 17 May to Friday 21 May.
The conference is sponsored by:

- Cambridge University Press
- COP26.
It marks a unique occasion to collaborate, share and debate climate change policy, ahead of the COP26 negotiations in November, with gatherings of:
- global policymakers
- academics
- practitioners
- students
- members of the public.
Addressing vital issues
UKRI will be running five sessions as part of conference, each addressing vital issues on sustainability and climate change.

Treescape: building resilience into the future

Mitigation session: climate change and net zero
Wednesday 19 May, 11:30 to 12:15.

The event takes place at a critical juncture in the COP26 pre-meetings and negotiations, and is part of the All4Climate Italy 2021 official pre-COP26 initiatives.
The programme features the latest thinking and most relevant international climate change and policy research across five themes including:
- green recovery
- nature-based solutions
- mitigation solutions
- adaptation and resilience
- finance and regulation.

Addressing one theme each day, Climate Exp0 showcases an impressive range of over 200 international speakers and contributors confirmed so far, joining across a variety of sessions, including:
- keynotes and panel discussions

- poster presentations
- on-demand content.
