Procurement tenders for national Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) laboratories are managed through UK Shared Business Services (UK SBS) which manages the procurement for all UK research councils. All requirements between £10,000 and OJEU thresholds are advertised on Contracts Finder, and requirements above OJEU threshold limits are advertised on Tenders Electronic Daily.

The Diamond Light Source is the UK’s Light Source based at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. It is a joint venture funded by STFC in partnership with the Wellcome Trust. You can find out more information about procurement and how to register as a supplier on the Diamond Procurement website.
The European Space Agency (ESA) is funded through the UK Space Agency. Many of the requirements may be similar to the research infrastructures funded by STFC. View ESA tenders.
ITER (the International Tokamak Experimental Reactor) is being constructed at Cadarache, France at a cost of well over €5 billion. ITER will take 10 years to build and will require conventional and also specialist engineering expertise. Procurement for UK companies is managed through CCFE.
