What the Project Impact questions cover

The Project Impact questions ask for data about your organisation and innovation and its contribution to the UK economy, society, and the environment. There may also be questions related to the business sector you’re in or the support you apply for.

All funding opportunities will include questions about:

  • number of full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • number of FTE employees as a result of this support
  • expected number of FTE employees as a result of this support
  • private funding received as a result of this support
  • total operating profit or loss
  • operating profit generated as a result of this support
  • total research and development and innovation expenditure
  • total turnover
  • proportion of total turnover from innovative products and services
  • turnover generated as a result of this support
  • proportion of turnover as a result of this support from overseas
  • expected turnover as a result of this support
  • number of research and development projects
  • new collaborations made as a result of this support

All grant funding opportunities will also include questions about:

  • number of research and development and innovation FTE employees
  • research and development and innovation expenditure as a result of this support
  • proportion of research and development (and innovation) expenditure from private sector sources
  • cost saving as a result of this support
  • Catapult centre engagement related to this support
  • Innovate UK Business Connect (formerly Innovate UK KTN) engagement related to this support
  • new patents, designs, trademarks or copyrights as a result of this support
  • new or improved products, services or processes launched as a result of this support
  • expected new products, services or processes as a result of this support
  • number of papers published as a result of this support

Many of the questions are not required for public sector organisations, research technology organisations, academic institutes, or individuals. Please select ‘Not applicable’ or enter ‘N/A’ where relevant.
