ESRC institutes are world-leading establishments that are fundamental to the social science landscape. They provide a unique, long-term, national capability, generating evidence and expert insight through pioneering social science research, training, data and infrastructure.
Our institutes work in partnership with policymakers, practitioners, industry, community organisations and the wider research sector to create a more prosperous, healthy, sustainable and secure society. A very small number of new institutes may be established by the ESRC that align with our long term strategy and fiscal environment.
