All Medical Research Council (MRC) funded researchers are expected to comply with the UKRI open access policy. Researchers must ensure that a copy of all publications within the scope of the policy is deposited at the time of final publication in Europe PubMed Central (EPMC).
This applies both during and after the period of funding.
In cases when the article is not deposited automatically by the publisher, it is the researcher’s, or a delegate’s, responsibility to:
- ensure a copy of the author’s accepted manuscript (or version of record, where the publisher permits) is deposited, as defined in Annex 1 of the UKRI open access policy
- review and authorise in a timely fashion the final web version of the manuscript prepared by EPMC.
